Program Description:
Hong Kong Poly
Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong

The City: Hong Kong is now one of the world’s leading financial centers and one of Asia’s most attractive countries, both for tourism and quality of living. One of China’s Special Administrative Countries, the city is still influenced by its English history, which creates a unique “East meets West” culture.

The University: Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is Asia’s 34th best university according to the Times Higher Education. It was founded in 1937 and aims at excelling “in professional education, applied research, and partnership for the betterment of Hong Kong, the nation and world.” A close partner of business and industry, PolyU has strong regional and global connections.

About the Summer Program:
Dates: July 11- Aug 14, 2019 + optional field trip July 4-11
Courses: Undergraduate students earn 6 credits of business or non-business elective.
Costs: GSU tuition/fees. Students are responsible for all travel & living expenses.

This program is open to all undergraduate students at GSU with a minimum GPA of 2.0. For business students, elective courses are offered in hospitality and economics. Other courses focus on Chinese language, culture, and technology, art, and environmental studies. Participants will be required to take 2 classes (6 credits). Before the orientation, students have the option to add an excursion to one of the following cities: Macau & Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Taichung, Kaohsiung, or Xian.

For GSU students, the PolyU summer ‘program fee’ is waived, however, GSU students will pay GSU tuition & fees per credit hour. For the summer session, on-campus housing at PolyU is FREE.  Students will be responsible for other costs including, airfare, meals, insurance, passport, visa fees, the optional field trip, and personal expenses. Eligibility:
  • Studying at Robinson College of Business
  • Maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5

  • Mandatory international medical insurance.
