Program Description:

The Georgia State University International Education Fee (IEF) Study Abroad Scholarship, initiated in 2004, is funded by the mandatory international education student fee. If awarded the IEF Scholarship, students will receive a $1000 award. Please be aware that the IEF Scholarship is a competitive scholarship and applying does not guarantee an award!

The International Education Fee (IEF) Scholarship is open to students enrolled in degree or certificate programs who will be earning credit for an experience abroad. The minimum institutional GPA is 2.75 for undergraduates and 3.2 for graduate students. 

Your study abroad program application is your scholarship application for the IEF! All qualified applicants who:

  • have been accepted to a GSU program or approved for a non-GSU program

  • have paid their deposit (for GSU faculty-led programs only)

by the deadlines listed below will be considered for the scholarship.



Summer/Maymester 2018 February 15th, 2018
Fall 2018/Academic Year 2018-19 April 13th, 2018
Spring 2019 October 15th, 2018
